When getting into websites, we all have seeing several banners, and we know its part of the daily basis nowadays

we can define banner as: A banner creative is the most basic ad format. It appears within set borders on a page and doesn't expand or cover other page content.


Banner Testing


This creative units of course need some QA process, even tho, in most of the cases the process will be not as formal as in a website, here are some high lights


Functional Testing:

  • Verify that the banner unit is clickable and redirects to the correct destination URL. (as a tip, this will need to be tested in at least mayor browsers, since there are some where the clicktags scripts might need some re-work)
  • Check if the banner unit functions correctly on both desktop and mobile devices.
  • Test any interactive elements within the banner, such as dropdown menus or buttons.

Content and Copy Verification:

  • Review the text content in the banner unit for accuracy, as we regular do, focus on spelling, and grammar.
  • Check that any promotional offers, discounts, or call-to-action messages are correct.
  • Ensure that the content is easily readable and does not have any visual issues, such as overlapping or truncated text.

Cross-Browser and Cross-Device Testing:

  • Test the banner unit on various browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
  • Ensure the banner unit looks and functions correctly across different devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones with various screen sizes.
As any QA process, you need to be sure to document any bugs, inconsistencies, or suggestions for improvement. Collaboration with designers, developers, and stakeholders is essential to address and resolve any identified issues promptly.
