Testing Techniques: Exploratory Testing

 What is Exploratory Testing?

Exploratory Testing

This is a really casual type of testing we can apply. in Software Quality Assurance (SQA), exploratory testing is an approach to testing where the testers design and execute test scenarios without relying on pre-defined test cases. Instead, they use their knowledge, experience, and intuition to explore the software/Web application, and interact with it as an end-user would, this will help to check its behavior in real-time.

The goal of Exploratory Testing is to uncover defects, usability issues, and other potential problems that might not be easily discovered through scripted testing methods.

Exploratory Testing complements formal testing efforts and allows testers to adapt quickly to changing requirements or new insights during the testing process.

The results of exploratory testing are:

  • Discover hidden defects.
  • Understand User experience.
  • Adapt to changing requirements and conditions.
